Anna Mani, Google Doodle celebrating 104th birth anniversary of Anna Mani on August 23. She was one of the greatest physicist and meteorologist and a icon of women's empowerment. Anna Mani was born in a family of Syrian-Christians in Peerumade village of Kerala on August 23, 1918. Anna Mani consider Mahatma Gandhi her ideal and was greatly influenced by his thinking that the reason why she always wear khadi.

She was 8 when she firstly asked for physics book. Anna Mani graduation Physics and Chemistry from the prestigious Presidency College, Madras (now Chennai), and also got a research scholarship for the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). After finish her studies went to London's Imperial College to study Physics and later got inclined toward meteorological instruments. while studying she mastered the instruments used in study of meteors.

After completing her studies she returned to India. She started making instrument for India and produced nearly 100 weather instruments which helps to give accurate weather reports. She was from one of the women who was fighting against the retarded mentality of the society and excelling in a male-dominant field.

Later she established a lab which is used to measure the speed of wind and solar energy. In 1987, she became the Deputy Director General of the Indian Meteorological Department and was awarded the K.R Ramanathan Medal, Indian National Science Academy (INSA), for her contributions to the country and science.
In 2001, on August 16, she died in Thiruvananthapuram Kerala.
